Nankei Brass Tea Caddy
Designed to Sit Beside a Kyusu
This brass tea caddy is sized and shaped specifically to pair with a kyusu teapot. Its proportions make it easy to measure, scoop, and return tea leaves while preparing tea in the Japanese way.
It holds approximately 100 g of standard sencha, the reference Nankei uses when designing the form.
Thoughtful Lid Construction
The caddy has both an inner and outer lid. A tea scoop (chasaji), sold separately, can be neatly stored between the two lids — an intentional detail that keeps your tea tools together in one place.
Uncoated Brass That Ages With You
Made from thin, uncoated brass, the surface slowly deepens in tone as it reacts to air, touch, and time. Each caddy develops its own patina through regular use.
This is not a polished container meant to stay the same. It is meant to change.
A Note on the Material
The brass used is intentionally thin and lightweight. If dropped or struck, it may dent or deform. This is part of the honest nature of the material and should be handled with care.
