Since the Edo period (1603–1867), Binchotan (Japanese White Charcoal) has been used traditionally as fuel in Japanese homes. They are made from oak branches that are fired in ceramic kilns at very high temperatures. In modern Japan, Binchotan is used as a natural way to purify and cleanse. Due to its thousands of microscopic cavities in the wood, Binchotan can absorb and remove toxins and unwanted chemical substances.

Binchotan is woven into the fabric, boosting the cleansing ability of Shirayuki Kitchen Cloth, with the same absorbency and durability of Shirayuki Snow White Kitchen ClothThis multi-purpose cloth is made from high-quality fine mesh cloth. The perfect mix of cotton and viscose makes this cloth highly durable and soft. The cloth becomes softer and more supple with each use.

Please wash thoroughly in warm water by hand before the first use to remove the starch. They use natural sweet potato starch from Kagoshima prefecture in Japan. Soak in hot water with 40 degrees to let the starch soften. Rinse until water comes out clean.
