Bush clover 萩 is counted as one of the Seven Autumn Flowers, blooming in early summer and peaking in late summer. Some gardens and parks in Japan have tunnels of bush clovers. In the midst of the midsummer heat, the trees provide welcome shade.

The beautiful blooming flowers of bush clover swaying in the wind have been a beloved autumnal scene in Japan since the Manyo period (710-794). Many gardens and parks have tunnels of bush clovers.

Please wash thoroughly in warm water by hand before the first use to remove the starch. They use natural sweet potato starch from Kagoshima prefecture in Japan. Soak in hot water at 40 degrees to let the starch soften. Rinse until water comes out clean.
