This one is shaped by hand at a small studio in Yamagata, and the care shows in the details: the balanced weight in the hand, the smooth line of the spout, and the lid that settles into place with a soft, exact fit. It is made in small batches, by people who make things slowly and well.

The decanter is sturdy, functional and attractive. The stopper has etched glass that keeps it solidly in place, yet is easily removed. The soy sauce pours without the need to remove the stopper. This type of decanter was new to me, so I placed it in a small ramekin to prevent stains on my placemats. As you can see, the ramekin is spotless after several weeks of use. Not a drop has leaked or spilled. I put it my dishwasher initially, and there were no signs of any damage or stress. I love it. It’s such a simple, pleasant addition to a place setting.
A beautifully crafted vessel that feels substantial in the hand and looks beautiful on the table. The ground glass finish keeps the top securely in place. Dispenses just the right amount with each pour. Very pleasing.
The soy sauce dispenser is a wonderful item. Works as stated - NO Drips. Made of wonderful quality glass with heft - thick and nice to hold. Typical Japanese quality, which means it is worth the money. Have looked for a soy sauce dispenser and tried all sorts, and this is a keeper.
