A Traditional Edo Broom Crafted for Everyday Ease

Made by the legendary Shirokiya Denbei workshop in Tokyo, this Classic Short Handle broom represents a style of Japanese broom-making that dates back more than 200 years. Each broom is crafted using traditional Edo techniques, where every stem is finely split by hand to create soft, flexible, incredibly durable bristles.

Shorter in length and easy to maneuver, this model is ideal for smaller rooms, tatami spaces, entryways, and daily sweeping where precision and control matter.

Why This Broom Is Special

  • Handcrafted Edo Tradition
Each broom is made using the historic Edo splitting method, which creates soft bristles from a single natural stalk—no cutting, no synthetic fibers.
  • Natural Shine With Every Sweep
The broom’s fibers contain natural oils that leave a subtle, polished sheen on tatami and wooden floors.
  • Soft But Effective
The split fibers flex gently, making the broom quiet, smooth, and safe on delicate surfaces.
  • Lightweight & Easy to Control
The shorter handle provides balance and precision, making it ideal for compact spaces or for those who prefer a smaller broom.
  • Minimal Dust Scatter
The fine, naturally flexible bristles gather dust and debris without kicking particles into the air.
  • Durable Natural Materials
Made from high-quality broomcorn that becomes softer and better with age.
  • A Piece of Japanese Craft Heritage
Shirokiya Denbei is one of Tokyo’s most respected Edo broom makers, with techniques passed down through generations.
