Bamboo Chopsticks — How To Make Them Last Longer

Bamboo chopsticks are an eco-friendly alternative to plastic ones. They’re also very durable. But they do have one drawback: they don't last as long as their plastic counterparts. So what can you do about it? Here's what you can do to make them last a long time.

Wash them with soap and water.

Wash them in warm water with soap after each use. This will keep them clean and extend their lifespan. If you wash bamboo chopsticks in hot water, they'll become brittle and break easily. Instead, use lukewarm water to wash them. It won't damage them and it will help them last longer.

Dry them thoroughly.

Dry your chopsticks properly. I use Shirayuki Cloth, but any kitchen towel will do. Chopsticks will last longer than if you just leave them sitting out wet in the open air.

Store them upright.

Store your bamboo chopsticks upright. This keeps chopsticks dry and away from mold and mildew.

Replace them when they start to look worn out.

If you notice any cracks or chips in the bamboo, it's time to replace them. You can feel confident that you got the most out of your old bamboo utensils when you replace them. When you are ready, order for Kikusui Everyday Bamboo Chopsticks
