Karmi is a hand-crafted tea canister with a contemporary minimalistic shape that fits in your hand. The name Karmi comes from one of the Haiku poetries. It means "lightness."
Each canister is hand-sculpted by artisans in Yamanaka, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Countless lines called "Sensuji 千筋 (a thousand streaks)" on the surface are one of the craftsmen's original techniques. They create not only beautiful textures but also serve as a non-slip material.
The inner lid firmly fits the canister, making it airtight, which protects tea leaves from the outside humidity and temperature.
Founded in 1908 in Ishikawa Prefecture. Gato Miko Shoten is a family woodworking house with over 100 years of history. All of their products are made from the finest timbers and they are hand-sculpted from a single piece of wood.
This tea canister combines beauty and functionality that conveys the charm of Yamanaka lacquerware.
