Karmi is a hand-crafted tea canister with a contemporary minimalistic shape that fits in your hand. Karmi is a name inspired by one of the Haiku poetries. It means "lightness."
Each canister is hand-sculpted by artisans in Yamanaka, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Countless stripes on the surface known as "Sensuji (a thousand streaks)" are one of the craftsmen's original techniques. They not only produce exquisite textures but also double as a non-slip surface. The inner cap seals the canister, keeping it airtight and protecting the tea leaves from humidity and temperature.
Founded in 1908 in Ishikawa Prefecture. Gato Miko Shoten is a family woodworking house with over 100 years of history. All of their items are handcrafted from a single piece of wood and are made from the finest woods. All of their products are made from the finest timbers and they are hand-sculpted from a single piece of wood.
This tea canister combines elegance and functionality that conveys the charm of Yamanaka lacquerware.
