Sakura Blizzard

Sakura Blizzard - The Wabi Sabi Shop
One of the reasons why Japanese people enjoy cherry blossoms so much is the graceful way the flowers fall. The phenomenon is called the “blizzard of falling cherry blossoms.” The pink petals, scattered by the cherry blossom blizzard, cover the river’s surface and the ground, creating stunning sights. The photograph was taken at Hirosaki Castle's Outer Moat in Aomori Prefecture.

The word “Sakura” means cherry blossoms in Japanese. Sakura symbolizes “renewal” and “hopefulness.” The flashes of pink signal the end of winter and the arrival of spring. The Sakura tree reminds us about the new beginning and tells us never to lose hope in life.

As April approaches and we all have goals we want to achieve by the end of the month, we present the lovely sakura patterned Kitchen Cloth to remind you of your goals and new beginnings.
