Established in 1830, Shirokiya Denbei is a specialty store producing and selling Edo brooms. They're based in Kyobashi, Tokyo. Next to Tokyo Bay, the Kyobashi area flourished as a bamboo market in the late Edo era. Shirokiya Denbei has been producing Edo brooms using techniques passed down since the Edo period.
This broom was created in response to a need for a high-quality broom for sweeping outside.
The brooms are handcrafted one at a time by Sumida Ward craftsmen, which is unusual for a moderately priced broom for sweeping outside. The brooms are made with 20-30% more broomsticks than most brooms on the market, and the brooms' tips are built to prevent them from spreading easily.
Ferns have coarse fibres and are very long-lasting. This broom is ideal for sweeping up fallen leaves from doorways, streets, and asphalt.
This is a great broom for cleaning a large area. You can sweep with both hands without bending over, thanks to the long handle.
