Shigaraki Ware, also known as Shigaraki yaki in Japanese, is a type of pottery produced in the Shigaraki area of Shiga prefecture. It is considered one of the "Six Ancient Kilns" of Japan and is renowned for its 1,260-year history of production.

Kohiki refers to the technique of applying white mud with high water content to the entire surface of colored clay works to make them appear whiter.
